Bob Sobecki named George H.W. Bush Volunteer of the Year!

Long-time First Tee – Lake Erie volunteer Bob Sobecki has been named the George H.W. Bush Volunteer of the Year! This award is given annually to one volunteer from the First Tee network of over 150 chapters, and is sponsored by Golf Digest.

Sobecki was nominated by the First Tee – Lake Erie staff and selected from a pool of nominees across the country. In addition to the award, the chapter will receive a $25,000 gift from Golf Digest.

The George H.W. Bush Volunteer of the Year award recognizes a volunteer who has demonstrated exceptional service and commitment to participants and staff of First Tee by providing hands-on support with grassroots events, fundraising activities, character development, and more.

First Tee – Lake Erie President & CEO Adam Reny shares, “Bob’s commitment to the youth we work with at First Tee is unmatched. Day after day, Bob shows up with a smile on his face and is ready to make sure each kid in his class has a fun and positive experience at First Tee. Without Bob and others like him, our organization’s impact would not be near as great. On behalf of our board and staff, we congratulate Bob for this well deserved national recognition!”
